At Segal Roitman, we take our commitment to workplace democracy seriously and proudly practice what we preach. In January 2022, Segal Roitman’s associate attorneys formed the Organization of Workplace Lawyers (OWL), the first labor union of law firm associates in the country.
Segal Roitman granted voluntary recognition immediately, becoming the first law firm in the country to have unionized associates. Segal Roitman and OWL worked together to successfully negotiate the country’s first collective bargaining agreement covering law firm attorneys.
We are extremely proud of our associates’ decision to organize. It embodies the spirit of solidarity that is the heart of Segal Roitman’s mission of improving the lives of working people through legal representation of labor unions, benefit funds, and employees. We look forward to continuing our work together to advance workplace democracy and workers’ rights for many years to come.
